Subsystems
A System can track other Systems. Those linked Systems appear as Subsystems in the directory. Subsystems can nest when a Subsystem tracks Systems of its own.
View Subsystems
- Open a System and click Directory.
- Subsystem rows appear in the tree with the System's name.
- Expand a Subsystem to browse its tracked Resources and any nested Subsystems.
- Click a Subsystem to see its summary: System ID, classification, link details, and which version is tracked.
- Click a Resource under a Subsystem to preview it.
The Subsystem row menu (right-click) has these items:
- View Subsystem
- Open System
- Copy (URL, name, link, or ID)
- Edit System Details
- Share
- Remove (in edit mode)
Add or change tracked Systems
- Open the Directory and click the pencil (Edit system).
- In the Library pane, open the Systems tab. Search for a System, then click Add or drag it into the tree.
- To create a System and add it in one step, click Create System, or choose Add new (+) > Subsystem.
- For each tracked System, choose a System version: baseline or a specific tag.
- To stop tracking a System, open its row menu and select Remove.
- Click Commit Changes, enter a message, and click Commit Changes to save a commit on the branch.
You can't add the current System, or a System the branch already tracks.
Required role: Editor or above to add, change, or remove tracked Systems.
When a tracked Subsystem moves to a newer version, the change appears on the Accept changes page.
