Introduction

About This Documentation

This guide provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for installing the Istari Agent onto one or more host machines (VMs or physical hosts) in your enterprise. The documentation goes into depth on the deployment and configuration of the agent using standard OS management and administrative tools. The estimated installation time is 1 hour per agent.

For organizations using multiple tenants, additional configuration is required to ensure proper tenant isolation. See Agent Multi-Tenancy for detailed information on configuring agents in multi-tenant environments.

By following these instructions, you'll be able to deploy the Istari Agent within your own infrastructure. However, if you get stuck, just contact support@istaridigital.com

Assumptions

This guide assumes that you have already installed and deployed the Istari Platform in your cloud environment. ----this needs to be reworded

These instructions assume the most recent Istari Agent version and compatible versions of the Istari Platform and any relevant modules. See the release notes (linked above under Releases) for the exact version numbers.

Audience

This documentation is intended for DevOps engineers or IT professionals with system administrator-level access to the VMs and/or physical host machines the Istari Agent(s) will be deployed onto and administrator-level permissions in the Istari system.

Conventions Used in this Guide

Istari Agent version: Replace X.Y.Z with the exact version of the Istari Agent from the Releases list. For example, if the most recent version of the agent is 7.4.0, then istari_agent_X.Y.Z.exe would be istari_agent_7.4.0.exe.
