Glossary of Terminology
Agent: A component of the Istari Digital Platform that executes jobs to manipulate models or files on behalf of users of the Istari Digital Platform.
API:
Application Programming Interface.
DE:
Digital engineering.
DE Tool:
Digital engineering tool is software that is used to manipulate a model file (e.g. Cameo).
DE Tool Function:
An API function that is native to a specific DE tool.
Download:
To retrieve a copy of the data for your local computer.
Enclave:
A secure isolated environment within a larger system designed to protect sensitive data. This specialized area ensures that only authorized users can access the stored information, preventing unauthorized access or tampering.
Extracted Artifact:
Data extracted from a file into an open file format.
Function: A specific manipulation of a model with a DE Tool. (e.g. Extract, which extracts data in open formats from a model file.)
Job: An execution of a Function on a model or a file.
Mobile device:
A portable computing device (e.g. cell phone, iPad, etc.).
Model:
A file that is created by a DE tool (e.g. wing.prt).
One time password (OTP):
A unique temporary code generated for a single login session or transaction. Unlike traditional passwords, OTPs can only be used once, providing an extra layer of security.
Tenancy:
The subset of an enclave that is used by a single tenant.
Upload:
To connect data to the Istari Digital Platform. The data stays within the customer server.
